Description

Some Micro Pokémon from my Teyrnas Region project.

Micro Pokémon are, as the name suggests, very small. Because of that, they are of no interest for trainers, and don't figure in the main Pokédex, but are extremely important for the regional ecosystem, since they are at the very bottom of the food chain, becoming a main source of food for the smaller predators.

KIWAII (ground)
These tiny creatures mostly inhabit fields and moors located in the Region’s  southern areas. They are nocturnal Pokémon, which keep hidden during the day and wake up at night, roaming around to feed on berries and seeds. The large feet have long fingers and hard claws and they allow the creature to dig rapidly even in hard soil to create or enlarge its burrow, mostly hidden between trees and plants’ roots or rocks.
Even if they have small wings, they’re unable to fly, and they move around jumping, rolling or bouncing. Sometimes they let the wind carry them around, since they’re so light that even a gentle breeze is enough to lift them. When such kind of transportation is unwaned, they awoid being swept away sticking their claws into the ground.
Since they are small and fragile Pokémon, only a few specimen manage to survive long enough to evolve, but at the same time their soft, round appearence made them to be quite popular among Teyrnas’ people, and are often kept in small cages or terrariums as pets.

Evolves in Puffinch after approximatively three months from birth

PUFFINCH (ground/flying)
These Pokémon are small inhabitans of Teyrnas’ southern areas. They mostly live in fileds, moors and woods’ borders. Being not very skilled at flight, they prefer to dig a burrow between trees’ roots, or under rocks, occasionaly inside hollow trunks and very rarely they build a proper nest between trees’ branches.
They keep their hideouts carefully hidden, since they are common preys for wild carnivores. In addition, wild Martlin often look for their nests, to destroy the eggs and replace them with their own.
If threatened they usually flee (and thanks to their long legs they prove to be extremely fast runners), but when it comes to defend their newborns they can be incredibly brave, facing opponents hundreds of times bigger than they are , swiftly attacking them wih their beak, and inflating their red chest to look bigger. Also, they emit a peculiar screech, surprisingly loud compared to the size of the creature it comes from.
Like Kiwaii, Puffinch are quite popular as pets, too, also due to their graceful chirping they emit to claim their mate or owner’s attention.
